Warm and Cozy

So, I got this fleece jacket from my Uncle Dan & Aunt Kim....don't I look cute in it? I think I'm the best ever dressed 5 month old! Thanks Uncle Dan & Aunt Kim~I love my jacket!! :)

Here I am loungin' in my bumbo seat up at Grandma & Grandpa Byeman's cabin. I LOVE sitting in it. I would rather sit in it than lay on the floor because I can see what's going on in the room better. Mom says that I'm a very social girl...always needing to see what's going on.

Oops...

So, I was heading to Target yesterday to pick up a few things and had decided to go right after I fed Jaelyn and changed her diaper. This would maximize my shopping time, or so I thought. After putting Jaelyn into her car seat I noticed that her diaper bag was not really stocked with the essentials....ya know...extra onesies & a set of clothes for the unexpected blowout, diapers, wipes, etc. But I thought to myself, "I should be ok...I just changed her dirty diaper...she won't have another dirty one".

Ok...note to self...don't assume that because she just had a dirty diaper that she couldn't dirty another one up!

The drive to target takes about 10 or so minutes. Unbeknownst to me, from the time we got in the car to the time I was getting her out of her car seat to put her in the baby bijorn...she decided to unleash! It was everywhere!! It had soaked through her onesie, through her outfit, and onto the car seat! There was so much of it!! YIKES!! After realizing that I had been too lazy to stock her diaper bag before we left with an extra set of clothes...I decided I would just change her diaper in the parking lot and then run home to get more clothes. So, I opened up the diaper bag...had a diaper....but NO wipes! Oh, boy!! Not good!!

Poor girl. She had to sit in it all the way home. But I guess she didn't really mind because she was talking to herself the whole way home....probably saying that her mommy wasn't a very good planner. Oh, well! She got a bath out of the deal & then took a 3 1/2 hour nap. We didn't end up going back to Target until that evening. I guess one's got to be flexible!!

Jogging

So, mommy is trying to get back into shape. Between Baby Boot Camp & running/walking on her own...I'm in this thing way too often!! Mommy is currently running about 2 miles...so I guess I'm not in it too long. But she says that she wants to increase her mileage which means I'll be in this for longer stretches of time! She says it's a lot harder to run with the jogger stroller then if she just ran on her own.

Look how small I look in this jogger...thankfully mommy puts a soft snuzzler in it to support me so that I'm comfortable...sometimes cozy enough to sleep!

Mommy makes sure that I'm wearing a hat so that the sun doesn't get in my eyes and she also lets me play with one of my favorite toys...my links! They are so much fun to grab on to and especially put in my mouth!

A typical day

Here are a few pictures from today...a typical day in the life of Jaelyn! She is super easy going and easily gives out her smiles. You almost only have to look at her and she gives you a big grin!! What a doll. This pictures was taken while she was sitting in her bumbo seat. She loves the different view she gets while sitting.

Jaelyn LOVES when Daddy gets home from work (so does Mommy!). She is eager to have some play time with him.

And then of course is the art of changing her diaper. I had to capture this on camera. She is such a ham when she gets on the changing table. Now that she's found her feet she has become a real wiggle worm...it makes for interesting diaper changes!

First Entry...We'll give this a try!

So, I thought this may be a fun way to remember/journal all the little things Jaelyn does (as well as Marcus & I). However, I know you'll just be cruising through this blog to see what Jaelyn has been up too!! I don't know how many people have told me that I need to write things down of when Jaelyn does this or that...or else I'd forget 'em. So here goes it...we'll see where it takes me! Hopefully I'll be able to keep it updated...so that you all will stay updated with what's happening in our life....It's a Byeman's Life!


This picture was taken the other day while she was having a fun time in her exersaucer on steroids (as my friend, Lauralee put it!!). She is such a joy to us!! We are really enjoying this stage in her life: grabbing for toys & actually playing with them (well, ok...really putting them in her mouth), giving us "full body" smiles, giggling, talking & talking & talking, drooling a lot (hopefully not the beginning of teeth!), sleeping 11-12 hrs at night (8pm-7 or 8am!), always has her thumb in her mouth, rolling over (although she hasn't done that trick again in a while...I don't think she liked being on her tummy!!), and the list could go on and on. What FUN!!
