I figured I needed to post a more up-to-date video of Ben walking. He is 100% walking & some would say running around too...crazy kid!! Well, I guess not too crazy because Jaelyn was walking at 10 months of age too...guess we just have early walkers! Bring on the tiny-tot soccer team! Ha! :)

Our special time
Since Benjamin still takes a good 1.5+ hour morning nap, I've been trying hard to give some undivided attention to Jaelyn during this time. It's easy to use this time to cross things off my to-do list...but the to-do list will always be there...& my 3 year old won't be 3 forever! (Ben get's his mommy time during the 3-4pm time slot because he usually wakes up from his nap before Jaelyn!) Yesterday we made brownies together, finger painted masterpieces, & played the memory game together. Such fun!! (Although I had to close my eyes at the sink full of dirty dishes/laundry/etc!)
I was really impressed with her...I asked her how many eggs were needed to make brownies & she looked at the box-saw the picture of the 2 eggs-and told me to get 2 "chicken eggs from Brian & Denette". (We are lucky to have neighbors who own a bunch of chickens...they let us get fresh eggs whenever we want! I don't have to buy eggs from the store anymore...& these eggs are way more fresh!)

The best part of making brownies!! Yum!! I neglected to get a picture of us eating the warm brownies when they came out of the oven...oh well! Trust me...they were great! :)

Goin' to the dentist!
Today Jaelyn went to the dentist for the first time and she did awesome!! I was really proud of her. You could tell she was a bit nervous after she jumped up on the chair, but she did great!! In preparation for this new experience, we read a book about going to the dentist & I think this really helped her too. After she rode the chair & touched the magic toothbrush, smelled the strawberry "toothpaste" that make your teeth sparkle like a princess & grape flavored gloves that the hygienist was going to use she was at ease with the whole process.

I was really impressed with the dental office & am really glad I chose to go to a children's dentist rather than my own dentist. The atmosphere was so kid friendly! Besides all the kid talk that the hygienist & Dr. Marissa did with her, there was a flat screen tv hanging from the ceiling that she could watch! If you ask her what her favorite part of going to the dentist was, it would be getting all her "treasures" to take home! (pink toothbrush, her very own toothpaste, floss, stickers & a butterfly clip for her hair) After picking out a treasure from the treasure chest, Dr. Marissa also gave her a token that she could use to get another treat! So fun. I'm really glad her first experience with a dentist was so smooth-hopefully that will continue!
