Fancy Nancy Ballet

I surprised Jaelyn with tickets to the Fancy Nancy Ballet Show: Bonjour Butterfly! She was very excited to have some alone time with mommy but didn't really understand what she was in for! I wasn't exactly sure how she would do during the show - but she was captivated the entire time!
Jaelyn got her book signed by the illustrator, Robin Preiss Glasser before the show. She definitely had her "fancy Nancy" going on!

Jaelyn was very eager for the curtain to open and for the show to begin! She ended up sitting on my lap because the seat kept folding in on her! She loved all of the costumes the ballerinas were wearing, especially the butterflies and Fancy Nancy. The most precious of all comments was during the middle of the show - out of nowhere she whispered "Mommy I love you!" Once in the car she talked a mile a minute the whole way home about what she saw....and then when we got home she had to retell the whole experience to Daddy - including showing the moves that the ballerinas did! Cute!! Love you, Babes! Thanks for a fabulous night together (that's a Fancy way of saying great night!)

Winter Wonderland

We woke up this morning to a blanket of white everywhere! So beautiful - however I am ready for Spring to arrive! At any rate, we wolfed down our breakfast so that we could get outside & play. Such fun. Ben insisted that he wear his blue jacket & vest rather than his warm winter coat - maybe it has to do w/ it being a 2T size and a bit big for him! Oh well. :)

Exploring around the yard - he didn't like falling down & getting snow everywhere!

Just having fun in the snow!

The snow can't keep us away from our play set!

Ben did NOT want to get out of his swing! He wanted to stay in that thing forever. At the very end Ben resorted to covering his face with his mittens because he was so cold but yet didn't want to quit swinging...can you say a bit stubborn?!

Pump It Up!

With a little dusting of snow on the ground, Jaelyn's preschool was canceled. C'mon people - seriously?! So, what's a mom to do with 2 kids jumping off the wall? Take 'em to Pump It Up to get all their energy out! Thankfully Dylan & Laurel (and super mom, Amanda) were game to meet us there. It was a sweaty fun-filled morning & both kids fell asleep in the car on the way home! Here are a few pictures of the morning - kinda hard to get action shots of the kids in the bouncy house...but still had to try!

Being goof balls

Attempt at a group shot!
(Ben, Jaelyn & Dylan)

This kid showed no fear. He bounced to his hearts content with all the big kids.

Yummy Wendy's lunch afterward.

Back walk-over

Jaelyn's latest new skill she's learning at gymnastics: a back walk-over! Pretty fun to see her smile the whole time she is at gymnastics. She LOVES all the running, jumping, somersaulting, hand standing this class has to offer. Our home is becoming a gym as well. So fun!

Be My Valentine!

We had a little special Valentine's Day dinner together: steak on the grill, a yummy veggie casserole, rolls & chocolate covered strawberries!! YUM. Both Jaelyn & Ben thought their valentine's cards were pretty sweet too: cell phones! I had to explain what it said, "UR GR-8" XO, Mommy...but still super fun.

The chocolate covered strawberry was more of a hit then the veggies - imagine that!

After dinner was over, we had a little Valentine's gift for each of them...they were completely surprised and very excited!

A little excited, ya think?!

Yes!

Checking out Ben's new books about Thomas the Train

All in all a fun Valentine's Day - we are so blessed as a family! I love you all much! :)

Valentine's Day Mail!!

We LOVE to get the mail each day - it's a highlight each day. But today was extra special because it was Valentine's Day! We got so many envelopes addressed to us and even a couple packages! What fun - we feel so blessed!! :)

Jaelyn "read" Ben's Valentine's card to him

Even Ben got his very own "vehicle" silly bands!

So fun to tear into each envelope to see the surprise inside!

Stickers, stickers, & more stickers!

Valentine's Day Party

Jaelyn had a Valentine's Day party at her preschool - they passed out Valentine's cards to all their friends, sang songs for the moms & dads, ate lunch including a heart shaped sandwich, frosted & decorated a heart shaped cookie, and did a little Valentine's craft. A super fun morning!!

Jaelyn's Valentine's Card she passed out to each classmate

Meticulously decorating her cookie!

The heart (that she cut out all by herself) held all her Valentine's cards from her preschool friends.

Here are a couple little videos of them singing:

"My heart is in your hands"
A little gift she presented me at the end of the party - her hands & mine together. Cute!
