Photo op

Way back at the beginning of August, I took Benjamin to get some pictures taken. He was 5 wks old at the time. Here are a few of the good ones:







I wasn't planning on taking sibling shots...but Jaelyn wanted in on the action...here is what we got with the 2 of them (not bad!):

Stitches

On Monday night we took a trip to the ER because Jaelyn split her chin open. Just before the bath/bedtime routine started, she slipped on our steps and her chin took the brunt of the fall. I saw the whole thing enfold but was nursing Benjamin...thankfully Daddy got to her fast. I knew right away that she needed stitches, so we jumped in the car and headed to Children's hospital. You know the ER is going to be busy when a helicopter is taking off after dropping off a kiddo! Man...after arriving at 7:45pm we finally got home at 2am! What a long night of waiting & waiting some more.

Jaelyn was a champ! She was a brave little girl through the whole procedure...we are so proud of her!! She got 6 stitches (but really she had a total of 8...but Dr. Mark took two out b/c he didn't like the fat that was still protruding through her chin! Yuck!!) It was really hard to watch her go through this! A nurse had to hold her head and lock her jaw shut so that the doctor could stitch her up. After everything was done the doctor let her pick out a stuffed animal that she wanted and she had to eat popsicle before she left too!

Fox Hollow

Today we met up with friends from church for a play date at Fox Hollow. It's actually a private property, but they open it up to the public for a few play dates during the summer. It is quite the place!

We finally got Ben in his own crib last night! Since Jaelyn doesn't want to give up her crib quite yet we were able to borrow this crib from some friends of ours. Ben likes this better than the pack n play!! :)

5 weeks old

Potty Training

So, we are slowing trying to get this little girl potty trained. We aren't going "crazy"...but are trying to make her aware of when she has to go pee-pee & poopy! The last 4 days she has successfully gone #2 in the toilet! We do the potty dance & get super excited for her...hope it translates into more success!

My first pedicure!

This is what happens when we go out for the evening & Marcus' aunts babysit Jaelyn...her first pedicure! She was pretty excited about getting her nails done & couldn't stop showing us her pretty nails!! Thanks Nancy & Karen! She loved the undivided attention you guys gave her...you are both welcome to come over anytime!!

Beating the Heat!

With the heat wave that we had this week (one day it reached 103 degrees!) this was one of the ways we stayed cool! Once Jaelyn got used to the pool she was a fish and didn't want to get out! Lots of tears were shed when we had to go home! We'll definitely have to come back.
