Fun in the pool

After Jaelyn woke up from her afternoon nap, we took her out to her pool for a little swim. It took a bit of coaxing to get her in...but once we stripped her down to her birthday suit she got into it. She enjoyed splashing the water and getting as much water out of the pool as she could!

Can she be any cuter? What a sweetie-pie!!

Love the bare buns!! You can only swim naked for so long....

Pool time!

I picked up this pool for Jaelyn today. We are finally having summer-like weather...so I figured Jaelyn would have lots of fun playing in it since she loves water babies class so much. With temperatures reaching the 90's this weekend, I'm sure we'll have lots of fun times cooling off in the pool! I, too, may have to get in myself!

"Oh, boy, Mommy! This looks like a lot of fun!"

"Wait a minute, Mommy...the water temp is super-duper cold. I don't think I'm gonna get in tonight!"
So, we didn't make it into the pool tonight, but I'm sure the water will warm up a bit over night and be ready for some swimming tomorrow!

Happy Father's Day!

We went up to the cabin this weekend. It was great to get away from everything...especially the weather! You can always count on sun & warmer weather at the cabin! We went on a little hike together although Jaelyn did not like being carried in the kelty backpack. We decided she wasn't crying because she was uncomfortable, but rather she wanted to walk all by herself!! :)

"Pretty flowers!"

Jaelyn loved running around the cabin...especially finding all the rocks! I didn't know rocks could be so much fun! She enjoyed munching on them & throwing them!! Good times! :)

"Mom, these rocks taste so good!"

Jaelyn also got to see this 2 point buck! He came really close to the cabin~even drinking some of the water out of the water barrels Opa uses to water some trees! She really didn't know what to think about the deer...they had a starring match together!

And, Happy Father's Day to the greatest Da-Da in the whole wide world! We love you! :)

My little explorer!

It has been really crummy weather the last week or so...people have dubbed it "Junuary"! For example, Snoqualmie Pass has received ~7 inches of new snow! Anyway, lots of rain & chilly weather makes this Momma have some serious cabin fever. Thankfully the rain let up a bit in the afternoon so I decided to go for a walk in the neighborhood. I put her down on the pavement while I went to grab the stroller from the garage...I figured she would have just followed me into the garage. Boy, was I wrong! When I got back to her this is what I saw:

"Puddles are such fun! No worries that my bum is getting all wet!"

I even caught her trying to blow bubbles in the puddle! Needless to say we had to do a little detour before we actually went on our walk. To top it off we were probably only gone for about 15 min when it started raining again! Ahhh!! Hawaii anyone?

Keizer, OR

This past weekend we headed down to Keizer, OR for a "work party" at Brad & Suzanne's place. Normally it takes about 4 hours to get there, however, this time it took us about 6+ hours to get there! Note to self...either leave early or late on Friday...not at 3pm! Ugh. Thankfully the weather cooperated with us...it turned out to be a beautiful sunny weekend! The boys were able to get a ton of work done around the yard while the girls hung out and took care of the 3 little munchkins.

From the moment we arrived Friday night Jaelyn was in heaven chasing after their pets: Kona (the cat) & Brutus (the english mastiff).

I've got your tail!!

"Mom, do you think he wants a kiss?"

"Will you come out and play with me?"

Brutus~thanks for being such a trooper with Jaelyn! You are such a good doggie!!

On Saturday afternoon (after the girls had taken their naps) we headed to downtown Salem so that the girls could ride on a carousel! Jaelyn wasn't too sure of her horse and after the carousel started moving she wanted "off" of it! So, I held her for the remainder of the ride. We decided to ride the carousel once more...but this time we sat in a wagon...a much better experience for Jaelyn!

Jaelyn is holding on for dear life!

We had such a great weekend...we just wish Uncle Brad, Aunt Suzanne & Lexi lived closer to us!! Before we headed back home, we plopped the girls on the grass for a little photo shoot.

Alexis (10 months), Elisabeth (7 months), Jaelyn (13 1/2 months)

Jaelyn & I are a little jealous of Lexi's hair!! Too cute! Gotta love bed head :)
