Hangin' out up at the cabin

This past weekend we went up to the cabin for a little rest & relaxation. We had such a good time! It was nice to be away from the "to-do list" at home because that list seems to be never ending!! Oh, the joys of owning a home! :) Marcus' college roommate, Josh, is in Seattle for a month so he was able to join us at the cabin too. Jaelyn LOVES playing with Josh! It's also fun because she can totally say his name...and she says it constantly!!

It was a great weekend for me because I was able to get a lot of scrap booking done on Jaelyn's book. I'm only doing the 1st year of life...but gosh, I've got to kick it in high gear if I want to complete it before baby #2 arrives!

A fun new thing that Jaelyn has been doing lately is kissing. Gone are the open mouth kisses...now she is puckering up her lips & going in for multiple kisses at one time. She'll even put one hand behind your head and pull you towards her for a smooch! Oh yeah..she also makes the kissing noise too!

What's going up to the cabin without a hike? Jaelyn actually enjoyed sitting in the kelty hiking bag. Kinda unusual because she likes to walk all by herself!

22 month update

So, I haven't done one of these in a long time, so I'd thought it was high time I did an update on Jaelyn. Gosh, she's gonna be 2 in a couple months!

vocab: it seems like she is starting to say a lot more words lately...I'm not sure how many she says....for kicks I thought I would write some of the down (not an all inclusive list): mommy, daddy, ma (Oma), pa (Opa), papa (grandpa Post), buh-bye, baby, more, book, dirty, truck, bus, deer, bee, juice, nigh-night, what is that?, boo (blanket), peese (please), nice, potty, duck, Brutus, Josh, choo-choo, ball, uh-oh, purse, wash, bottle, no, yes, two, done, bright, hot, bite, mo (elmo), mine, mouse, bra (ha!), "tu-tu" for her favorite veggie tales dvd (thanks uncle dan & aunt kim!), 8+ animal sounds
favorite books: She LOVES to read & look at her flash cards. Probably her go-to book right now are her Usborne books: farmyard tales book, 1st dictionary book, nursery rhymes.
favorite foods: honey bunches of oat cereal, any chicken/rice combo meal, salmon, mandarin oranges, blueberries, peanut butter granola bars, any kind of ice cream, diluted apple juice. She graduated out of her highchair when we moved to our new house...she loves sitting like a big girl & especially loves having her own plate/fork & spoon to eat with! We have a hard time keeping her sitting at the table once she is done...gotta work on that!
favorite toys: her kitchen, baby doll & stroller
how many teeth: has all her teeth minus her 2nd year molars.
loves to: color, read books, make food at her kitchen, brush her teeth by herself, turn the toy room into a disaster by then end of the day, looking at pictures & watching video of herself on the computer, play with her friends at church.
hates: sitting in the grocery cart (Argh!), bananas, getting her nails cut.
sleeps: goes down at night around 7:30pm and wakes up around 7:00am. She takes one nap...usually right after lunch for about 1-1.5 hours.

Found Jaelyn like this the other day!! Had to quick take a picture and then proceed to explain to her that we don't sit in the drawers!!
