Birthday Girls

 The Birthday Girls!  We had a little family celebration for both girls - - dinner, cake & presents...doesn't get any better than that!

BiRTHdaY ParTY!!

Jaelyn had a birthday party with all of the girls in her class.  We decided to do it at Creatively Yours-a place where you can pick out a piece of pottery and paint.  It was a fun place to do it and the girls enjoyed painting, giggling, eating cupcakes, and simply hanging out together!

Daddy's visit to Kindergarten

Daddy (and the whole family) got to go to Jaelyn's kindergarten class for a time of sharing.  Since Daddy has a pretty cool job of helping design rockets (he's a rocket scientist!) we thought he would come and share some fun things about rockets.  Boy....it was a hit with the class and they loved watching the little video clips, actually holding thrusters & getting some super cool stickers/poster/work sheets to take home.  Fun stuff!

Jaelyn's 6!

How can it be that you are six years old today?!  Wow...time is flying by!  Today was a fun day for you - at school you brought in your "all about me" poster along with some treats to share at snack time.  You got to wear the "star of the week" crown in class too.  You had your first soccer practice with the U6 girls for LWYSA and then a brat/cheetos/cole slaw dinner (your request!).  Oh...and you can't forget about yummy cupcakes and presents!  What a fun day celebrating YOU...and we get to have 2 more parties next weekend to celebrate your birthday!  Yay!

Brooke is ONE today!

 

This was by far the hardest "photo session" we've done to date!  She would not sit still and all she wanted to do was get off the couch!  She also discovered the sticker and proceeded to rip it off after only a couple pics with it on her tummy!  So, I pieced it together and put it on her back to get the shot of her standing up (with Jaelyn's help of playing peek-a-boo with her outside!)

 

What's Brookey up to these days?

• She has 4 chompers, but drooling a ton...so I'm sure she is working on some more!
• LOVES ice cream ...so much so that Marcus & I wait until she is in bed before we get a little scoop for ourselves...otherwise we would have to share!
• Still crawling....probably should be walking, but would rather crawl because it's faster.  However, the last few days she is putting together 4 steps at a time.  She'll stand without holding onto anything for what seems like a few minutes.
• Says "hi" to us while waving!
• Claps in delight (love it!)
• Weight:  20 lbs 4 oz (45%)
• Height:  29.5 in (70%)
• Trying to figure out how to drink from a sippy cup (Mommy needs to give her more opportunity to learn...sorry, 3rd kid syndrome...bottle is just way easier!)
• Still sleeping 8pm-7:30am, with 2 solid naps each day.
• Pretty much eats anything we put in front of her.
• Enjoys "brushing" her teeth
• Has found her voice - she will let out a very loud scream (ear piercing!) every so often...so to make sure you give her some attention.  Oh boy! 

We had a little family celebration for Brooke - - and she demolished her cupcake!  She didn't need any coaxing to get after the cupcake (unlike the other 2)!

 After a much needed bath and wardrobe change...it was onto presents!

 

 Ben adores his Brookey (or as he says, "Broot")!!

 

Of course, Jaelyn & Ben "helped" her unwrap her gift!
