Daddy & Benjamin had a special outing together - a tour of fire fighter Greg's fire station!  Ben thought it was the coolest!!  He got to ride in the fire truck with the sirens going, learn all the ins and outs of how the fire truck works, check out the ambulance, actually extinguish a fire with a hose (ok, maybe it was an orange cone, but still!), get a tour of the facility (man, if only I could get paid to work out like they do - having a cross fit gym at your workplace is pretty cool!), and then at the end of the tour an actual emergency call came in...so Ben got to see how fast they really are!  What a great experience for Benjamin.  He has always been fascinated with firetrucks/firefighters...maybe he'll climb the ranks and become a Chief Battalion like Greg is!  :)

Things we Love!

Reading books together!  Brooke is precious and likes to read right next to Jaelyn!!  Too cute!  At the moment she likes any book that has pictures of animals!  Jaelyn on the other hand is a reading machine and reads chapter books like they are goin' out of style!  I am amazed at home fast she can read those books!

buh-bye cottonwood!

YAY...the Cottonwood tree is coming down!!  Noel, the tree climber is nuts.  That cottonwood tree was probably 7 or 8 stories high and he just climbed up it like it was nobody's business.  Insane.  We are thrilled it's down...it's just a nasty looking tree, makes a mess in the fall (clogging up our gutters)...plus the tree guy said it was dry up top which means it could fall at anytime.  Phew....it's down!

Rock Stars

Jaelyn had her first soccer game of the fall.  We've been practicing 2x/week for the month of August...and are ready to play some games!  I think the girls said the score was 23-1...we were complete ROCK STARS!  The other team even added another girl on the field to make it a bit more even...but we are just too strong of a group of soccer players!  What fun!

First day of Preschool!

Someone's ready for another great year at preschool!  He's got Mrs. Wilt & Mrs. Pitts this year - so excited to see what this year brings him!

1st Grade!

Jaelyn's off to 1st grade....no apprehension about starting school...just pure excitement & joy!  Love her!  I'm praying for an awesome start to the school year, that she would be a great friend to her classmates and that she will continue to grow and develop into a beautiful child of God.

 

 Ready for school!  Oma bought this outfit for her when they went back to school shopping!  That's a fun tradition!
