Last week was transportation week at preschool and they learned about all the different ways people can travel. Today they got to go on a field trip to Kenmore Air to get an up close view of sea planes! How cool is that? Did you know that Kenmore Air is the world's largest outfit for sea planes? Yes, I said the world...and it's right in our neck of the woods! And do you know the age you need to be to fly a plane? There is no minimum age! You just have to be able to reach the pedals! Crazy!! Our fearless guide was flying solo at age 12 and he said he knows a 7 year kid who is flying!

Both classes at Living Hope were on the field trip together - here is the whole crew!

All the kids piled into the sea plane to see what it was like - they also got a chance to sit where the pilots get to sit! While they were in the plane they got to see a plane land in the water too!

Jaelyn and her teacher, Mrs. Pitts

The kids got a little tour of the hangar - where the planes are built (which takes anywhere from 6 months to 1 yr to do) or repaired.

Another fun thing they got to see was how the "beaver" or "otter" planes get into the water.

It was a cold & rainy morning, but fun for the kids to see the sea planes up close! On a side note, Ben got played with Auntie Karen while Jaelyn & I were gone. They must have played hard because at 12:30 Ben brought me a movie. At first I thought he wanted to watch the movie, but quickly realized he was telling me that he wanted to go to bed b/c Jaelyn usually watches a little video clip/or cartoons while I put him to bed! When I asked him if he wanted to go to bed he quickly nodded his head yes...& he was off to get some zzzzz's!
