Florida!

Marcus & I went to Florida to watch the Orion EFT-1 launch.  Marcus was instrumental in the reaction control thrusters on the crew module.  We had such a fun vacation together.  It was so great to be a part of this excitement - it's been over 40 years since we went that deep into space - and to be in his "element" with fellow engineering nerds!  :)

On Wednesday we had the day to explore before the company dinner so we ventured off to Kennedy Space Center.  WOW.  What a cool place.  It would be fun to take the kids back there some day!  To see Atlantis & the Saturn V rocket, to experience the launch simulator and everything else in between.  The KSC is an amazing place to explore!

The Rocket Garden
Off to see Atlantis
Standing in front of the Atlantis shuttle.  So cool!
Marcus in the captain seat
Checking out the rockets - they are huge!
Aerojet's booth at the KSC because of the launch
The building that held the Saturn V rocket.  So many interesting details about that building.  If I remember correctly, it's the tallest single story building in the world, the USA flag painted on the building is the biggest ever, it takes 45 minutes for the doors to open, etc, etc....mind boggling!
The crawler - the moveable launch pad
Blast shields!  That's a lot of heat!
Saturn V rocket.  Massive!  So impressive
The actual Apollo crew module
